The TESDA Apprenticeship Program is now known as Kasanayan at Hanapbuhay Program.
This program entices private companies to participate and provide opportunity to new graduates
looking for a job to acquire basic skills and actual work experience by accepting them as
apprentice/s from 4-6 months.

The government program is also a means for private companies to demonstrate their corporate
social responsibility by contributing to the development of pool of experienced and skilled workers.

Kasanayan at Hanapbuhay Program”

(An Apprenticeship and Employment Program)

 

 

 

 

OBJECTVES:

 

- Provide opportunity for new entrants to labor force to acquire experience and skills;

- Generate commitment from enterprise in developing the skills of the Filipino workforce;

- Facilitate the absorption of apprentices into the regular workers after their apprenticeship.

 

INCENTIVES TO PARTICIPATING ENTERPRISE:

 

1.Payment of 75% of the prevailing minimum wage to apprentices, or
2.Additional deduction from taxable income of one-half  (1/2) of the

value of labor   training expenses for developing productivity and

efficiency of apprentices. Provided, that such deduction shall not

exceed ten percent (10%) of direct labor wage.

 

ENTITLEMENT OF THE APPRENTICE/S

 

  Apprentice shall be entitled to receive a wage not less than 75%

  of the prevailing minimum wage and benefits such as social security,

  health benefits and overtime pay.

 

REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER/PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM

 

1.Letter of Intent
2.Skills Training Outline/Training Design
3.Certification that the number of Apprentices to be

  hired is  not more than 20% of the regular workforce.
