UTPRAS
means,
Unified TVET Program Registration and
Accreditation System.
It is a registration system in TESDA
which
requires all Technical Vocational
Institutions (TVIs), private or public,
to register all programs or courses
considered or classified as Technical
Vocational Education Training (TVET).
TVET programs/courses are considered
post-secondary education because they
are usually made available to high
school graduates. The learning activity
are shorter and less expensive compared
to degree/college education. Curriculum
design/content intends to develop skills
and knowledge of the students for them
to get employed or start a livelihood or
entrepreneurial activity to generate
income.
WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER?
All public and private Technical
Vocational Institutions who offers and
conducts TVET programs or courses for
post-secondary education.
WHY THE NEED TO REGISTER TVET PROGRAMS
OR COURSES?
1.
Registered TVET programs/courses follows
a government prescribed curriculum;
2.
Registration is a form of government
recognition of program/courses being
offered to the student/public;
3.
Students gets proper credentials and are
issued government issued certificates
which are valuable for application for
local and foreign employment;
4.
Schools and learning institutions gets
appropriate TESDA/government support in
various forms to enhance the quality
and
conduct
of the program or course;
5.
TVIs with quality programs earns respect
and recognition from students, parents
and partners which results to good and
profitable business.
HOW TO REGISTER?
1.
Visit the TESDA District/Provincial
Office nearest you.
Most likely, the same office has
jurisdiction in the place your school or
training center is located;
2.
Secure lists of requirements you need to
prepare and submit. The same list can be
downloaded from the TESDA website;
3.
It is more wise to pay a visit and
discuss your intention with the concern
TESDA officials in order to get proper
guidance in complying with the
prescribed requirements
and other related concerns;
4.
Once you have submitted the documents,
an ocular inspection to the site is
conducted. The inspection is meant to
validate or
determine if all information
stated in the documents are true and
correct;
Once everything are found to be in
order, TESDA issues the Certificate of
Program Registration (CoPR).
